Alex Katcheves is an Annapolis native and obtained his undergraduate and medical degrees at the University of Maryland. After completing his neurology residency and serving as chief resident at the University of Texas in Houston, he went on to complete a fellowship in vascular neurology/stroke at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland. Dr. Katcheves has participated in numerous clinical stroke trials and is especially interested in stroke treatment and prevention. He is board-certified in both neurology and vascular neurology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. He has been the medical director of the Stroke Center at Anne Arundel Medical Center since 2010 and medical director of the Neurologic Care Unit at Anne Arundel Medical Center since 2011.
