Dr. Alan Rope received his medical degree from The Medical College of Ohio, which is now part of The University of Toledo, completed his Combined Pediatric and Medical Genetics residency at Cincinnati Children´s Medical Hospital. Upon graduation he joined The Department of Peadiatrics at The University of Utah School of Medicine. Dr. Rope is board-certified in Pediatrics and Medical Genetics. He is currently an Associate Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Utah and is within The Division of Medical Genetics. He also serves as The Medical Director for Pediatric Education Services at Primary Children’s Medical Center and Associate Program Director of The Medical Genetics Fellowship Programs.
His academic interests include education of medical students, residents, clinical fellows and continuing medical education of pediatric clinicians. His clinical and research interests include the chromosome 22q11 deletion syndrome, the Di George anomaly, connective tissue disease, syndromes complicated by birth defects involving the heart.
