Dr. Aimee Hersh is a pediatric rheumatologist at UCSF Children's Hospital, who treats children with systemic lupus erythematosus, juvenile idiopathic arthritis and juvenile dermatomyositis. Additionally, she evaluates children with musculoskeletal and joint pain. Her research focuses on understanding the long-term medical and psychosocial outcomes of patients with childhood-onset systemic lupus erythematosus.
Hersh earned a medical degree at Brown University School of Medicine in 2002 and completed a pediatric residency and fellowship training in Pediatric Rheumatology at UCSF Medical Center. She is a member of The American Academy of Pediatrics, American College of Rheumatology and Childhood Arthritis and Rheumatology Research Alliance. She was the recipient of the American College of Rheumatology Distinguished Fellow Award in 2007 and received a three-year American College of Rheumatology Physician Scientist Development Award to support her work as a junior faculty member. Hersh is an adjunct instructor in Pediatric Rheumatology at UCSF.
