Amy Avant is a board-certified nurse practitioner who has been practicing dermatology since 2015. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from The University of Kansas in 2009 and worked as a registered nurse at Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City for six years. She completed her Master of Science in Nursing from The University of Kansas in 2015. After graduation, Amy obtained her board certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner through the American Nurses Credentialing Center. Amy is passionate about the early detection and prevention of skin cancer, as well as educating patients on sun protection. Amy treats patients of all ages and her favorite conditions to treat are acne, psoriasis, and eczema. Amy is a member of the Society of Dermatology Nurse Practitioners, the Dermatology Nurses Association and American Association of Nurse Practitioners. Outside of work Amy enjoys spending time with her husband and two daughters. Together they enjoy traveling, baking, walks with Patrick and Penny- the family goldendoodles, trying new restaurants, and cheering on the Kansas City Chiefs.
